Chemistry is a branch of science with a rapid development. It influences the society to the greatest extent. It has significant applications in all walks of life. It is associated with the life processess and with the environment surrounding us. Advanced analytical techniques and improved industrial methods are introduced from time to time to cope up with the growing demands of public and also to solve problems arising due to anthropogenic activites.
Hence there is a great need to inspire the students towards chemistry for creating awareness on the spectra of its applications. One of the basic objectives of Association of Chemsitry Teachers (ACT) is to make sustained efforts towards enhancing the quality of the chemistry education at National Level to create interest about the prospects and job opportunities in the area of chemistry among the young minds.
The Associatio of Chemistry Teachers was launched in 2000 to server as an apex national body of chemistry educators to promote excellence in chemistry education. The Association brings together on a common platform higher secondary school teachers, college and university lectures, professors, scientists and researchers from industry for organizing subject related activities. Since its inception, ACT has been striving tirelessly to strengthen chemistry education in India and to motivate students to purse chemistry as a career.
